We met Mick and Karen on holiday in 2001 in Gran Canaria , we hit it off very quickly with Mick being a complete gent helping my mum with her parasol, we spent most days & evenings together having many laughs. We’ve kept in touch with a couple of visits where we was made to feel so welcome just like family really plus with Facebook that’s helped us stay in touch with a beautiful family. Mick was a truly wonderful man his kindness knew no bounds he gave the best to a total stranger as he would to his best friend, he was a true gent and we will never forget him he was 1 in a million. The 11th August was a very sad day xxx

I first met mick in 1979 and immediately became friends. He introduced me gary and we'd walk along Lee Street after school with a cigarette. On leaving school we both got capris then granadas. Over time we lost touch for a while but met up again where we first met kaz. His absolute soul mate. Mick was my best man and did a fantastic job. I worked for mick for a while and even forgave him for sending me a ladder with loads of equipment knowing I was scared of heights while he was giggling down below.
He was a true friend who called me bruv and he certainly was like a brother i never had. In all the time I've known mick I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him. That's how well loved and respected he was. Kind genuine and very sincere. I will miss him and cherish all the times we spent together
Rip mate until we meet again

For the 30 plus years I’ve been lucky enough to call you my buddy, if you were near or far, I always knew you could be called upon. That worked both ways unconditionally. On the good days and the not so good you were always there like my bonus brother.
Your humour, the tough exterior, the kindness inside and desire to strive for your family or any of us lucky enough to know you, are some of the qualities you had by the truck load.
I still cannot believe we won’t laugh together again, but I have some cracking moments to remember like breaking into your new home at No 57 or flooding Brian Martin’s basement when you said cut the left pipe when you meant the right.
The promise I made on the 21st November 1993 will stand good, I will always have it covered if or when I’m needed.
They say the good ones get taken first, never a truer word said.
You, Big Man, are my One in a Million.
Love you buddy.
